Meddling with the Divine

Today's Daily Word doesn't ring true for me. It suggests that when I'm off balance or feeling down, I simply turn within to listen to the still voice inside. While this is good advice, I also think it's important to fortify myself with positive thoughts... thoughts that make me feel expansive. To leave myself in the stillness, doesn't necessarily move me to the other side, to a more positive, healthy frame of mind.

So, while I may turn my thoughts and attention away from my concerns, I will also bring to mind the fullness of my positive circumstances in life. Maybe. Maybe, sometimes, it is about just letting go and letting God guide my life. I'm just a meddler, always trying to project 'my' way.

I'll surrender, and just sit with this thought today.

Spirit is my compasson each step of my journey.
When my vision is clouded by uncertainty, I imagine the security and assurance a blind person feels as he or she walks with a trusted guide dog. The well-trained dog confidently guides its handler around obstacles in their path. The handler learns to be sensitive to every hesitation and redirection the dog uses to warn of hazards or barriers.
When I need to discern my next steps, I turn my attention away from my concerns and meditate in the Silence. As I commune with Spirit, I carefully listen for subtle nuances to offer me direction. I see my way around stumbling blocks and trust my intuition to give new direction if needed. Spirit in me knows my perfect path, and my way is made clear.

Seeing beauty everywhere, in every one....

Today's Daily Word speaks to my heart about seeing beauty. This practice has been with me from my earliest years... I think from communicating with the childhood guardian angel. Seeing beauty everywhere, or seeing the beauty in each individual has always been a practice. So, today's Word speaks to my heart as a wonderful reminder....

I see beauty everywhere I look.
Today I take time to behold beauty in and around me. I pause to look into the eyes of my family, friends, and those I meet. My mind may notice only physical appearance, but I aim to see beauty with my heart.
In each face, I find the story of a life unfolding. I look with the eyes of my heart, and discover Divine beauty in each person. I notice their most positive aspect—an attitude, a gesture, a smile. Finding beauty is a practice that takes time, but I am patient. If I rush or disregard what’s in front of me, I remember to slow down and perceive the best in others.
As I form this new habit, I am gentle with myself. I gaze in the mirror and behold the loveliness of Spirit expressing through me. Beauty is everywhere I look.

Love and Forgiveness

Today's Daily Word talks about Love... on a deeper level, I think the message is about forgiveness. Yes, it's easier to love the people we are close to. And it's sometimes quite a challenge to 'love' those who have hurt us. Yet, through the power of Love... we can attain a peaceful heart and move out of the distress of feeling poorly about anyone. Truly an act of 'Love', and act of forgiveness.

Love
It is my nature to love.
The love of God flows through my heart to the hearts of others. When I am a conduit for love, I recognize the divinity in all beings. I honor their lives and want only the best for them.
Following Jesus’ teaching to love one another is easy when I cherish people dear to me. However, I am also called to appreciate those who are different from me, and even those who hurt or offend me. Loving as Jesus loved means to accept all people as expressions of Spirit, regardless of their actions, choices, or abilities. They are the beloved of God.
Love lives in me. It flows from Spirit and I share it with others. As I love, I am fully alive. I love because it is my nature to love.

Pursuit of Purpose... Happiness, Prosperity, True Abundance

Prosperity, happiness, the pursuit of life...
My definition of happiness is to feel the quality of enough... Enough, especially when it comes to being able to follow my 'Purpose' by giving to the world. In this, I am truly blessed and proserous.
I give from my heart, and I am richly blessed!
Optimism and pessimism are often defined as seeing the glass either half full or half empty. Prosperity thinking sees the glass completely filled with two different elements—water and air, for instance.
Today I see my life through prosperity thinking. Abundance is so much more than material possessions. I prosper in my relationships because they are mutually supportive. I am wealthy in my health because I take care of my mind and body. I eat nutritious meals, exercise regularly, and think positively.
If I experience lack in any area of my life, I ask myself: How can I more fully participate in the cycle of giving and receiving? I can volunteer, reach out to help someone, or appreciate others. As I think prosperously, I am blessed!
And, as I GIVE, I am overflowing with abundance, joy, and living my purpose.

Diversity in our Oneness

I honor all the diverse expressions of God.
Differences are an inevitable part of human life. Peaceful coexistence does not mean trying to make myself or others conform to one certain way of being or thinking. Being rigid or critical often generates conflict and violence.
I contribute to peace on earth when I first accept in my heart the diversity of the world. In prayer and meditation, I withdraw attention from any differences I perceive with my physical eyes. I behold with my spiritual vision the Oneness we all are.
Conscious of the underlying unity of all existence, I see great beauty in the diversity of life. I appreciate grace, order, and harmony in the multitude of ways the One Spirit shows up in the world.

Oneness

The belief in 'non-duality' is the knowing that we are all connected as ONE whole. We are one in Spirit, one in the love of God.
Praying for others is one way I express the love of God within me. When I hold good thoughts for another, or for a world situation, I am affirming God's Good for myself as well.
As I pray for my loved ones and for the world, I enfold everybody in thoughts of guidance, love, power, and protection.
As I pray, I affirm God’s light is leading each individual in ways of peace. I declare Spirit’s nurturing love is flowing through all, restoring the fabric of each precious soul to wholeness. I am affirming the Oneness of All.
I affirm the power of God inspires us to serve our community, our nation, and the world in ways of safety and understanding. The presence of God within connects us to one another in peace and harmony. Wherever we are, God is, and all is well.
Sweet blessings.

'I AM ...'

Today's Daily Word speaks of one of the basic Unity principles I learned almost 40 years ago. Basically, it's about paying attention to what we tell ourselves. Every time we use the words "I am" we are basically praying, affirming our circumstances. How many times do I say 'I'm tired'! Well... today, I AM Grateful! Grateful to be reminded to be more conscious of the words I use.

I use the words “I Am” with clarity and purpose.
Do I really give it much thought when I begin a sentence with “I am”? Declaring “I am worried” or “I am confused” is invoking the name of God, the “I Am,” and giving power to that statement. I could more appropriately say that “I have a concern about an issue.”
When I use the words “I am” carefully, I connect with the highest, healthiest thoughts about a given circumstance. By saying I am able, I affirm confidence. By pronouncing I am open, I assert willingness. When I declare I am worthy, capable, healthy, and prosperous, I activate these qualities within me.
The “I Am” is God in me, so I speak those words with clarity and purpose. I connect “I Am” with positive, affirmative statements, and declare my oneness with God.

Inner Peace

The peaceful presence of God is within me.
On this second Sunday of Advent, I focus on peace. I clear my mind of cluttered thoughts and replace them with images of tranquility.
I visualize a quiet lake, the stars on a clear night sky, or my family snuggled in to restful sleep. I let go of outer concerns and trust Spirit.
Peace is a state of mind in which I know I am one with God. The Presence is within me, around me, and in everyone for whom I care. Focused on peace, I am guided in every decision, and directed toward my good.
By maintaining a peaceful state of mind, I allow the full expression of God within me to bless every area of my life. I hold only positive, faith-filled thoughts. As I choose to live peacefully, I am a blessing of peace to others.

Hope for Rainy days

Hope
God is my ever-present source of hope.
God is with me through the stormy times in life. God is like the sun that shines even on a rainy day—it is merely hidden behind the clouds. In troubled times, my thoughts may turn cloudy with doubt and fear. If I feel separated from God, my hope may begin to fade.
At such times, I turn within. I rest in quiet prayer and meditation. I gently release any sense of separation. I affirm that God is my ever-present source of hope. Sitting in the Silence, I hear the still, small voice within. It whispers, “God is in the rain.” This truth washes over me and cleanses me of fear.
The renewing light of God shines through me like the rays of the sun. Spiritual light radiates from within, and my hope is restored.

True North Star and the Lighthouse

Strong words in today's Daily Word! The absolute foundation of Spirit, Faith, and Grace. Knowing that the Divine Presence is within me, not something vague and difficult to reach, but deep within, is our True Light House, or our True North Star. I love the metaphor of the North Star and a point of reference, to guide us to good decision and healthy thinking. In Unity, we used to say 'Where ever I am, God IS. And that's the Truth!'

Protected
Divinely protected, I live boldly and confidently.
The protection of Spirit is boundless. Wherever I go, I am guided and safe. The all-seeing wisdom of God is within me, as my inner voice and intuition. It is my steadfast lighthouse, gently guiding me away from stormy situations. Enlightened in the love of God, I am steered toward my highest good.
Knowing I am divinely protected, I live boldly and courageously. I navigate through uncertain situations with supreme confidence, always expecting good. God is within and around me, calling forth the highest expression of humanity in myself and others.
Wherever I am called to be, and whatever I am called to do, Spirit’s omnipotent power is with me. I am protected by the infallible Presence; I am always harbored in love.

Wholeness grows from within...

I'm not too sure I totally agree with today's Daily Word. Keeping positive thoughts wont necessarily keep me from being injured or sick. Faithful exercise also may not always result in longevity. Yet BOTH positive thoughts and exercise will certainly enhance my experience daily. By making healthy choice daily, my consciousness will inform my body, down to every little cell, which will move me towards wholeness. I do agree that wholeness grows from within.

Healing
Wholeness is my divine birthright.
Healing occurs when physical and emotional blocks are removed from mind and body. Then life energy can move freely once again. If I experience sickness, I become aware of any thoughts of limitation and let them go. I consider how to care for my body, and make any necessary adjustments.
By making healthy choices, I consciously move toward wholeness. By stretching, dancing, or exercising, I release tension or pain, and help my physical health. I let go of mental blocks with powerful statements: Sickness has no power over me. All that endures is wholeness.
I may combine exercise, such as walking or yoga, with affirmations. Today I move toward wholeness, and wholeness grows from within.

Seeking the Light

Today's Daily Word says that facing darkness is a normal process of life, and at such times we should reach for the light of God. Using the metaphor of a plant though, I somewhat disagree. All things that grow in Nature and ALWAYS reaching for the light. Thus, We should ALWAYS be seeking the light of God, not just during the hard times. Yes, it's a great comfort when times are shaky, and it is even a GREATER comfort when we seek the Light as a daily, moment to moment practice.

Growth
I am growing toward the light.
In order to grow, a seed must be covered under the dirt and find its way to the light. While in the darkness, it is nurtured by soil, heat, and water. Once the seedling bursts through, it leans toward the sun and creates food from sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide. In time, the plant yields its fruit.
Facing darkness is a normal process of life. At such times, I reach for the light of God to find my way, and I grow in faith, wisdom, understanding, and love. I become aware of my inner divinity and nurture my seeds of potential through prayer, study, and practice. The light of God helps me grow courageously. I keep moving toward Spirit and harvest the fruit of realization.
May we all 'grow' by continually seeking the Light.

Breathing in the Present Moment NOW

Interesting, when you focus on your breathing, you can ONLY be in the NOW. You can't draw a breath in the past, nor the future. NOW is the only time you can breathe. That is why the present moment is so important. When I find myself out it the future with worry, or lost in the drama of the past, I try to bring my awareness back into my breath. I take a moment and just breathe.

Good though, from today's Daily Word....
Now
I am home in the present moment.
The present moment is the most powerful moment of all. It is the only time I can breathe, connect with my body, and feel alive. When my mind is distracted and jumps to the past or the future, I may experience fear or worry unnecessarily. To be at peace, I need only return to the now—to this breath, to this heartbeat.
As I breathe in, I gently think of the word “in.” As I breathe out, I softly say to myself, “out.” I repeat this cycle for several minutes, and any mind disturbances dissolve. Quiet and calm, I experience the peaceful power of the present moment in my body.
My gentle breathing relaxes my inner dwelling. I am alive in my breath, I am at ease in my heart. I don’t need to go anywhere else to find peace. I am already home.

Praying for others is Self Care too

Today's Daily Word talks about being the 'light of the world'. For me, I feel it's about walking the talk. Knowing that we are basically all One... when I pray for myself, or when I pray for others... I am affirming the Highest Good for all. And I remember that my thoughts are prayers. What I am thinking about, I am affirming. So I keep my thoughts positive. I keep my thoughts aligned with the highest good, for myself, others, the planet. In that way, I affirm my presence in the Light of the world

from today's Daily Word...

God’s light shines in and through me, guiding me to be a loving presence. The Psalmist sang: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” The same light that shined through Jesus is in me and my loved ones.
If I am seeking answers, I trust the indwelling Christ to bless me with light and show me the way. As I follow God’s guidance, my steps are illumined and my words express faith. When I pray for others, I affirm: Spirit is leading you to your highest good. I behold my dear ones being receptive to God’s light.
As I allow Spirit to enlighten my life, I see my path clearly. My life is a blessing to others, and I am a presence of light in the world.

Self Care... Immovable Faith

Self care involves faith in Divine Order. Faith in Spirit to lead us out of darkness, depression, or any funk we fall into. An excerpt from today's Daily Word speaks directly to that.

My faith in God is immovable. If I sense a tinge of doubt, I close my eyes and feel the presence of Spirit. As I remember that with God all things are possible, my faith is instantly renewed. Mine is an understanding faith. I may not grasp all the complexities of life, but spiritual understanding assures me that divine order is always unfolding. As I am guided to something new or even challenging, I step out in faith and expect only good.

And so, I claim my own immovable faith, and affirm that you too culture and nurture 'immovable faith' in your life.

And so it is. Thank you God, Angels, and Guides

So very well put...

Oh my goodness. Today's Daily Word is so melodic and beautiful. While we are enjoying a lovely Fall rain, these words speak to my heart.

I join in the glorious dance of Life.
Sunlight sparkles across a blue lake. Shadows play across a wall. Winds rustle through evergreen forests. Even the busy city streets have a steady flow about them. All of life is a dance, a perfect choreography of Spirit.
With joy and delight, I step in the beautiful flow of creation. As I turn my attention to the indwelling Spirit, I sense the underlying rhythm of all living things. It is in my own breath and my own heart.
When this tempo changes on the outside, I stay attuned to my inner music—my divine guidance. I whirl and jump through twists and turns with seamless grace. In sync with Spirit, I play my unique part in the dance of Life.
Singers and dancers alike say, “All my springs are in you.”—Psalm 87:7

and so it is... thank you

More on Self Care

Today's Daily Word is a message about the fundamentals of self care. That our individual connection with God, as we have come to know God in our own way, is the deepest form of self care. My awareness of God is my 'go to' when I'm stressed or in need of 'Gritty Grace'.

Sunshine on my face, a loving hug from a friend, a crackling fire, a soft blanket, soothing candlelight, a hot bath, beautiful music … all of these bring me comfort. I know how to create a nurturing environment for my body, mind, and soul. I take good care of myself with gentleness and love.
I know that just as important as what I do is the consciousness with which I do it. If I am conscious of the eternal love of Spirit, I am more deeply soothed by each activity of well-being. My awareness of God is the most fulfilling and lasting comfort of all. However I choose to soothe myself in body, mind, and soul, I do so knowing that I am eternally loved. And in the everlasting love of Spirit, all is truly well.

I invite you to practice daily Self Care by making a ritual, a deep habit, of connecting with Spirit every day.
Sweet Blessings

Gratefulness on Thanksgiving Day

In all things, I give thanks to God. Not just for today... but in every moment of every day.
I practice gratitude in all circumstances. I begin by thanking God as my omnipresent guide and source. Through the spiritual practice of thanksgiving, I move beyond doubt or worry into a place of faith and trust.
Gratitude goes beyond giving thanks for help in times of need; it is a way of life. Gratefulness is my way of being, my foundation for living.
As I give thanks, my heart and mind open to the goodness of God. I become a vessel into which divine abundance flows. My greatest blessing is the Christ Presence within—my hope, and the very essence of love and life. Every breath I take and every word I speak reflect the activity of God in me. For all of life’s blessings, I give thanks.

Not just for the holidays

I know the holidays can be a time of great expectations and tremendous stress. From anxiety over family gatherings, to stress over holiday shopping, let alone the worries over financing it all. Today's Daily Word speaks directly to those pressures....
I am guided and restored by God’s power and light.
Completing errands, shopping, planning meals, and hosting gatherings can cause stress during the holiday season. When I feel I don’t have enough time for everything, or find myself harried, I stop and take a deep breath—then release. I let go of the day’s worries and let God restore my peace.
As I commune with God, I release my anxiety and let Spirit renew my energy. I then have the strength and calm to complete what is mine to do. Spirit is the light that guides me. When I don’t know what to do, I ask within. I let go of my way and let God shine the light of understanding in me.
My life runs smoothly as I yield to the light and power of God. In the midst of holiday busyness, I let go and let God.
And so it is!

Where ever I am, God is

These words are so true: I am never alone; God is always with me.
Wherever I am and whomever I am with, God is there. Spirit is always with me. When I walk in the woods, sit by a stream, or hear a beautiful birdsong, I sense the presence of the Divine.
If I ever feel separate from others, I consider whether I am holding thoughts of separation, such as judgments or comparisons. I release them and remember the Truth: whomever I am with, God is there. I affirm: I am one with God and with all people.
I soften my gaze and look again at the people around me. I behold Spirit expressing as them. I relax and feel my oneness with others and with all of life. I enjoy being together with others. All of life shares divinity—we are always together in God.
Next time I'm feeling sorry for myself, or feel left out, or even have doubts about just about anything, it will serve me very well to remember, where ever I am, God is, and THAT'S THE TRUTH!
Sweet Blessings

WILLPOWER

As I'm feeling frustrated by my lack of willpower when it comes to my eating habits, I read today's Daily Word... and hopefully, the seeds of Light will prevail in my life.

I use my human willpower to act on divine ideas in the world.
My human willpower helps me to accomplish things in the world. When I align it with the power of God, I can do anything.
Will is the capacity to make choices, and I use it to shape my ideas and my life. When I act on a thought, I bring it to life. I use this power to make healthy choices, choose positive thoughts, or focus on a goal and achieve it. With the ability of will, I direct my life. I make wise choices to be the best person I can be.
I align my willpower with the power of God. In prayer and meditation, I listen to divine ideas of peace, reconciliation, forgiveness, and love. I choose to act on these divine ideas for myself and others, even in difficulties. In this way, I manifest Spirit in the world.

And so, I set my intention to make healthy choices and to choose positive thinking around the choices I make in my eating.

Thank you God, Angels, and Guides.
And so it is.

'Write it Down'.... today's Daily Word

Oh my gosh. This morning's daily word speaks to my heart, and my daily practice of writing each morning and each evening. I so highly encourage you to create a God Journal, a place to write down your thankfulness and appreciation, to write out your prayers for yourself and others. Here's what it says....
I can do all things through Christ in me.
Today I let the power of my words flow. I write down my ideas as they come to me, recording my special needs and desires. I write an original message of Truth for myself.
If I need healing, I create a simple healing statement—God is my health. I write it down and add my healing thoughts and prayers. If I seek greater harmony, prosperity, or peace, I write about the fulfillment of that need—God is healing me now. Love harmonizes my relationships. I am prospered by divine ideas. I abide in the peace of God. I read my affirmations aloud, and envision good results.
I may also find a Bible verse that speaks to my heart and fits my need. When I put my faith into words, I call forth the creative power of Spirit in me.
Be doers of the word.—James 1:22

Sometimes it's just a few words... but the practice of writing to God, my Angels, and Guides has been with me most of my adult life.

Sweet blessings...

What is success?

Some would say success is measured by things, money, relationship. Of course Love.
I think success is also about how I apply my talents and abilities to my daily life, my work, and my relationships. I feel so fortunate, at this stage of life, to be retired, yet still filling my days with meaningful work. I am free to both serve in volunteer positions, helping people, and, I'm free to spend days in my studio creating spiritual art.
So, today's Daily Word speaks deeply to this time in my life...

My work is more than a source of supply; it is also a source of fulfillment. My work gives me the opportunity to use the talents and abilities God has given me. When I use my gifts to serve and bring joy to others, I have a sense of accomplishment—I achieve true success.
No job needs to be boring or humdrum. If I feel my work does not give me the opportunity to grow, I pray for a change. In the meantime, I do the best I can right where I am and thank God for my job every day. I bring happiness to the people I serve.
Today I put my heart into what I do, knowing that true success comes from the inside. I am blessed to be of service in the world!
My prayer is that you also find success and true bliss in your work.
Sweet blessings.

Self Care and Girtty Grace

Self care also means having courage to persevere when troubles get you down. It's important to remember to allow ourselves to be infused with Spirit,  which will strengthen and inspire, imbuing us with 'Gritty Grace', as I like to call it.
When learning to fly, a fledgling bird often needs prompting from its mother to try again if it has fallen. Life has its challenges, but even when I feel defeated, I do not allow discouraging thoughts to hold me down. God is my greatest support; I am inspired with the courage to persevere.
Deep at the center of my being lies a powerhouse of encouragement. In prayer, I turn away from self-defeating thoughts and tap in to the divine spark in my heart that burns with optimism, and fuels me forward.
From this higher vantage point, setbacks become stepping-stones. I spread my wings with confidence—nothing can hold me back. Spirit uplifts me and carries me forward.

Gentleness... 1st step in Self Care

To make a difference in the world, or to be 'on purpose', Self Care is vital. If we don't take care of ourselves, we may not be able to care for others, family, friend, or community. Today's Daily Word speaks of gentleness towards self. This is the place to start.
Gentleness toward myself is an act of self-love and the first step toward compassion for others. Jesus proclaimed that all humans belong to one spiritual family. His teachings were about gentleness, compassion, and love among people.
I practice gentleness by first noticing my feelings. If I feel anger, I look for the causes within. I meditate, pray, or write in a journal. With time and patience, I may discover my inner child calling for love. I comfort this part of me with utmost tenderness, as if caressing my soul with the delicate touch of a feather.
As I nurture my inner child, my anger subsides. I am healed inside and feel at home within myself. Any sense of separation dissolves; I belong to myself and to humanity.
May you be gentle with yourself, for today. Make it your practice.

A teaching day....

I treasure all my learning experiences. And, today, I am the one teaching. As I prepare for today's workshop, teaching people how to create their own Spirit Doll, I open myself to be a channel for Spirit. From today's Daily Word....

A Chinese proverb states that learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere. All my triumphs and tribulations are to be treasured. With each experience, I learn more about myself and my purpose. With every situation, I see the world from a new perspective, and I grow.
Each stage of my life has its challenges and rewards, and brings wisdom and insight. How exciting to know life’s lessons are unfolding! How wonderful that each day inspires new growth!
My life is not stagnant or dull, but filled with new joys. I look forward to each day, ready to learn about myself and the world. I treasure my life and all its lessons.
So, for today, May I lead people who are attending to see from a new perspective, to see and experience Spirit from a deeper place. May the Spirit Dolls that are created today, bring joy and sweet blessings to their creators. May we all treasure the lessons life brings us.
  Namaste and Sweet Blessings.

Choose freedom

Freedom is a state of being beyond external circumstances. I can experience freedom regardless of what I see outside myself. I choose to be positive in my thoughts and feelings, attitudes and perceptions. By choosing to focus on the good, I am free.
I release negative thoughts and emotions, and feel lighter in mind, body, and soul. I nurture my mind with ideas of health and well-being and experience the freedom of a balanced and productive life. My outlook is positive—I expect only good.
Freedom is a choice, a state of mind. By holding positive thoughts and feelings, I experience life to the fullest. Today I choose to be optimistic. Today I choose my freedom.

Remembering the Truth

I strive to always remember that God’s grace is my divine inheritance; I was born with it. But it's so easy to forget that I am as God created me—a perfect and unique expression of the Divine. Truth is, only if I give power to doubt or fear can I experience separation from God. When I am centered in the unconditional love of God, I live in grace and Oneness.
Jesus exemplified grace by demonstrating unconditional love. Through his Christ nature, he saw the Divine in all people, even those excluded by others. Like Jesus, I believe the Christ nature—the presence of God—lives in me and in every being. As I release any doubts of God’s love, I accept and celebrate the divine nature in me and in all.
As I fully live in God’s grace, I experience the Truth of God’s perfect love. And that's the truth!

I trust the spirit of God in you, and I know that all is well.

I may sometimes wish my loved ones would think or act differently. I may be concerned their actions or decisions will bring them harm or unhappiness. I may hope they were more open to the blessings of life.
However well-intentioned I may be, I must free myself and my dear ones from my anxiety and worry. I turn my loved ones over to God and trust they will be safe. Just as the Presence is strong in me, the same is true for them. The spirit of God is at work and good is unfolding in their lives, no matter what I see.
When I am concerned about my family and friends, I pray affirmatively: The spirit of God is with you, and I trust God in you. I see you as God sees you, with love. All is well. With faith, I release my loved ones to Spirit.

Clearing Clouds of Confusion

Confusion can sometimes get me down. Sometimes I’m unsure about what to do in a given situation. Circumstances may call for a particular action that does not feel right to me. Sometimes I'm confused by which road to take.
Although I could simply do what others want me to do, or I could take the 'easy' road, I want to act from integrity. So, I choose to be true to myself. At times like these, I pray. I become quiet and listen for the still, small voice of Divine Mind, which is NEVER confused.
Aligned with Spirit, I receive the direction I seek and the wisdom I desire. The clouds of confusion clear up. I find the courage to do what is mine to do without doubt. Assured of God’s guidance, I move forward with confidence and conviction. As I bravely act in integrity, I feel at peace and trust in the perfect outcome for all concerned. Attuned to Divine Mind, I discover the truth that brings freedom.

Forgiveness, for myself and others

I love that when a kitten has wandered away from its mother, she gently brings it back home. The mother does not have negative feelings toward the kitten but stays focused on caring for its health and safety. But... do I harbor negative feelings, about myself, about someone I think has offended me somehow?
I want to remember that when my thoughts or actions wander away from love, I can gently bring them back. Harboring negative thoughts and feelings about others hurts me more than it hurts them.
Forgiving and releasing anything or anyone that may have harmed me frees me to focus on my spiritual health. In my prayer time, I surround any unhealed situation or transgressor in love, and call forth the power of forgiveness.
I extend this forgiveness to myself, letting go of past mistakes. I make amends where appropriate, and release the situation to God.

Divine Order

I give thanks for divine order at work in and around me.
WHAT the heck is Divine Order anyway....?? The Amish call it God's Will.
Well....
Rain falls onto the earth, is heated by the sun, and rises as steam to form clouds. When the clouds get heavy, they break open and water falls again. This cycle supports life, growth, and harvest.
Divine order is evident in countless cycles of nature and within me. My day begins as I awaken from restful sleep and ends when I again seek rest and renewal. My body functions in orderly rhythms: the rise and fall of each breath, the steadiness of my heartbeat, my processes of nutrition and circulation. God’s work is everywhere.
My personal contribution to my personal Divine Order, is that I begin each and every day journaling prayerful intentions, and I end each and every day with a prayerful gratitude.
I embrace divine order in me and around me by affirming it, thinking positively, and expecting good results.
And, I am so grateful for the gifts of Divine Order!

Remembering to tune in....

I am tuning in to the wisdom of God. It's always there, waiting for me to REMEMBER!
Spirit’s guidance may come at any time, even when I am not seeking it. I stay receptive to divine communication through nudges and ideas. I may read and feel inspired or receive an invitation for an adventure. When guidance comes from Spirit, I hear something inside me say “Yes!”
I trust God’s guidance to push me past any resistance from old ways of thinking. I release any thoughts of limitation or fear. Whether I have been planning my next step carefully or feel suddenly called, I confidently step beyond the familiar into new growth. I gain greater awareness of what is mine to do and follow Spirit’s direction with enthusiasm. As I do, I welcome abundant and joyful blessings. I walk in trust, ready to follow God’s guidance.
Awareness of what is mine to do. Tuning in moment by moment. Sometimes it's hard. Like when I was impatiently sitting in bumper to bumper traffic last evening. My prayer is that I REMEMBER to tune in! Let this be a day of remembering.
   Sweet blessings.

The eye of the storm

I am a center of peace.
When I think of inner peace, I picture the eye of a hurricane. Even with the swirling chaos and turmoil, its center is calm and undisturbed. As I turn to the peaceful presence of God within me, I experience tranquility regardless of outer circumstances.
Inner peace comes from faith, intention, and focus. I have faith in God as my source of inner peace. I set my intention to experience serenity in my relationships and interactions. My thoughts and attitudes are focused on peace. With this practice, I experience inner stillness, a calm deep within where nothing can disturb me. I am in the “eye” of the storm. I am the peace that stands secure and strong in the awareness of God.
When I was recently on my 16 day trip, it wasn't difficult to find that deep inner peace. Every room I stayed in had been cleaned and prepared for me. Life was easy, exciting, and there were little or no frustrations.
Home again now for a few days... I'm remembering many frustrations that were absent during my travels. So, in the face of the 'normal' frustrations, during those times when my peace of mind is challenged, I need to remember the good words of today's Daily Word. I am the eye of the hurricane. While frustrations swirl around me, my inner core is at One with the awareness of Divine Mind, God.
And so it is.

Holy Intention

Rooted in God, I am peaceful, courageous, and strong.
Every fiber of my being is divine substance. I am made in the image and likeness of God. I may look like a separate part of the whole, but underneath my human nature is the vastness of Spirit. I am a wave that belongs to the ocean.
I am never separate from God because God is everywhere present. Worry and anxiety are signs I have forgotten this Truth. To remember it, I pause, feel my breath, and meditate. I may start by being aware of body sensations—my heartbeat, my feet on the ground. In God, I breathe and live. I am part of the ocean of existence. Everything outside and inside me is God.
As I focus on Divine Intelligence, I let go of any concerns. Rooted in God, I live in Oneness and peace.
I prayerfully and with Holy Intention, let go of worry and anxiety, reminding myself moment to moment, that I am never separate from Divine Intelligence, God.

An inside out job

When electrical equipment malfunctions, I first check to see whether it is plugged in. Similarly, when I experience dysfunction or disease in mind or body, I check whether I am “plugged in” to God. If I have harbored faulty ideas, I let them go. If I have given power to beliefs of disharmony or sickness, I disconnect from those thoughts and reconnect to Truth.

And so, today's Daily Word reminds me to stay 'plugged in' to the Divine Mind. As I complete my journey home today, after this amazing two week trip to the Pacific Northwest, I keep myself plugged in to the Divine, reminding myself that I am part of the whole, that it's an inside out job.
and so it is,

Deep gratitude for daily prayer

Myrtle Filmore, co founder of Unity Church, stayed focused through daily prayer, affirming words of praise and encouragement to her body. She continued to declare health as the truth of her being, until her body responded and the good she claimed was fully manifest.  And so I try to follow that grand example. Daily prayer, morning and night. Some people drop to their knees, I prefer to write my prayerful affirmations in a journal.
This past month, I've been led to take my prayer commitment one step further, by writing a prayer in here, hopefully every day. With my fervent prayer, my hope is that I can hold the space for good, that those I pray for walk in the blessings of the Light of God.
My son and his wife begin a month long journey to Thailand today. My prayer and affirmation is that this will be the magical trip of a lifetime for them. They will be safe and will experience joy, love, and deep fulfillment.
   And so it is.
With deep gratitude and sweet blessings.

An adventure

This morning I am preparing to leave the beautiful area of Port Townsend, Discovery Bay, Washington. I have a choice of two routes: to take the direct route to my next destination, Cannon Beach in Oregon. Or, to take the scenic route, two hours longer, way more remote, through the rain forest of Western Washington. My guidance has been split... and it feels like one of those challenges that I know I'll be sorry if I don't give it a try.  So, here is the wisdom from today's Daily Word!

Courage
I am strong of heart, courageous, and triumphant.
I may possess great physical strength, mental capacity, or both. However, neither of these is the source of my true power. Only the presence of God in my heart brings the steadfast courage and fortitude to overcome any challenge.
I find my inner strength when I connect with God in the Silence. Spirit within encourages me to be loving, authentic, and brave. I live fearlessly in each moment as God inspires me to move forward with confidence and zeal. I welcome each new challenge as an adventure, with a sense of gratitude and joy.
Heartened by Spirit, I accomplish all that is mine to do with deep assurance. I do not merely survive and endure difficulties, I thrive! Through Spirit within, I live triumphantly!

Thank you God for your amazing gifts!

Peace begins with me

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

Whatever may be occurring—near to me or across the globe—I maintain an awareness of peace. The peace of God can be known and recognized in all situations and is brought into expression as serenity, trust, goodwill, and friendship. Through prayer, I strengthen my practice of peace. I think peace, speak peace, and act in ways that foster peace. I am a peacemaker.

Maybe you're like me... I do keep my head in the sand by not watching the news. Being sensitive, I become too overwhelmed with the bad news. While I'm somewhat aware of the world situation, I maintain a prayerful thought, constantly, affirming peace. Through deep, slow, conscious breathing, I affirm God's Peace, first within myself, then flowing out to my family, friends, community, and planet.  I can't change the world, but I can create peace within me. As the Unity song says:
'Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.'
Namaste my friends.

CHOOSE to Focus on Gratitude

On my journey through life, I recognize the power of appreciation. I praise every part of my body, and I am energized with greater health and vitality. I pay my bills with gratitude in the divine flow of giving and receiving. As I bless others, I unlock the door to greater love and harmony in my relationships. Through gratitude, I open wide the door to Spirit’s infinite bounty.

I am grateful that I have the freedom and ability to CHOOSE to focus on gratitude. Even when an outcome isn't exactly what I had planned... I love the attitude of the Amish: that it is God's Will. Sometimes I can be rocked with a series of mishaps, missteps, or mistakes! By choosing an attitude of appreciation or gratitude, any strife is quickly over, and my whole being can return to peace and calm.

Good words for today!

Seeking the Divine

My deepest desire is to know God. I experience God in meditation, in nature, and in the loving presence of others. God’s presence is found in the fluidity of the present moment. When I focus on the experience of God, I am one with everything—other people, nature, the sun and stars. I am as ancient as the Universe and as new as the dawn. My desire to know God leads me to oneness, and I am at peace.

May you also be blessed with the desire to know and experience the Divine Presence.

Flexible in Spirit

Today's Daily Word really speaks to me about being flexible, about being willing to let go of expectations. I love the image of the bamboo tree. Standing straight and tall, reaching towards the light. Yet, flexible to bend and go with the flow, letting go of the expectation of standing tall.
I don't think I can plan much in my life without expectations... but my goal is to then LET GO of prediction or specific expectation. The result can be peace of mind, rather than upset or disappointment. As it says... my desire is to be an ever-flowing, ever-renewing expression of Infinite Life. Attuning myself to the Spirit within I am full of life, love, and joy. From that bountiful frame of mind, I turn that energy outward, to p
ray for those who are searching for that same Inner Peace.
And so it is....
Here is today's Daily Word...
I am flexible and young in Spirit.

The spirit of God is at the very core of my being. It is my Source of eternal youth and life. I recognize this flowing force that keeps me alive, breath by breath and heartbeat by heartbeat.
I do not limit my capacity to express the life of Spirit by being inflexible or stuck. I refuse to become crystallized in old thoughts or ways of being. I affirm my true nature in Spirit—I am an ever-flowing, ever-renewing expression of Infinite Life.
I live this truth by expressing openness and resiliency. I am flexible in mind and body. I am conscious of my life, energy, and strength. I express the vitality and youthfulness of Spirit within.

Footprints in the sand...

Throughout the world, believers often refer to God as the source of their refuge and comfort. When I feel challenged, in any way, I also turn to Spirit. There is NO doubt that the Infinite Love of the Divine is always a thought away.... not even a thought devides us. When I'm not even thinking or remembering that I'm surrounded with Divine Light, when the clouds of worry or anxiety darken my thinking... Divine Light IS STILL THERE! Kinda like that popular picture of footprints on the sand. When we're aware of God walking with us, we can see the two sets of prints. When we observe just one set of prints, it's because God is carrying us.
Let's remember that where ever we are, God IS. And, that's the truth!
Sweet Blessings....

Finding Oneness in Nature

Communing with nature, I find oneness.
What a gift it is to be in nature and to behold its glory! Whether I am hiking in the deep woods or strolling through a city park, I have the opportunity to connect with the natural world.
My time in nature sharpens my awareness. I walk among the leaves dancing in the breeze, while flowers of lively colors greet me cheerfully. A bird’s call invites me to watch its antics and marvel at its flight.
Communing with nature reminds me I am one with all of life. I behold the sacredness of living things great and small. I am richly blessed to be part of the natural world. In gratitude, I cherish and care for it.
I went down to the nut orchard, to look at the blossoms of the valley, to see whether the vines had budded, whether the pomegranates were in bloom.–Song of Solomon 6:11

Guidance
God guides my way in every situation.
A guide is one who shows the way, who leads and directs. Sherpa mountaineers guide climbers on their mountain trek, quietly leading the way, providing support and direction to ensure that climbers safely reach the top.
God is my guide along life’s path. God leads me in right ways, directs my thoughts and actions, and inspires me when I need energy and confidence.
I need never feel lost or alone when meeting a challenge, for I have a loving guide with me at all times to lead me through the twists and turns of life. Knowing this, I relax, let go, and enjoy the journey. I trust God, my Guide, to lead me to my good.

May you be blessed with clear awareness of God being God in your life.

Full of gratitude...

Ah... Good morning God, Angels, and Guides..... I am in such deep gratitude this morning for this amazing opportunity to enjoy a few days of solitude and retreat. I am feeling so blessed to have a few days at this amazing resort, right on Discovery Bay, overlooking the water. I was awe-struck during the incredible and might windstorm last night. It reminds me how small we are and at the same time, how connected we are to All.

May I spend this day in constant gratitude and joy.... may every thought today be a prayer that blesses and promotes healing and inner peace... for those I love and beyond... for all people.
Namaste....

and, from the words of Abraham...
I see myself in perfect health. I see myself in absolute prosperity. I see myself invigorated with life, appreciating, again, this physical life experience which I wanted so very much as I decided to be a physical Being. It is glorious to be here, a physical Being, making decisions with my physical brain but accessing the power of the Universe through the power of the Law of Attraction.

Finding the calm in stormy times...

Good morning friends... Today's Daily Word should have been read last night! Just before retiring, I got the news that one of our renters gave notice and that the attendance for the workshop this weekend is very low. I had great news yesterday too. I was invited to do a workshop at our local metaphysical store.
But, I let the agitation overwhelm me... and I couldn't drift off to sleep. Well, here are the words that really speak to my inner core:
At the core of my being, I find peace.
We are told that Jesus didn’t fret about the storms in his life. He remained confident and denied them any power. In the same way, I say, Peace, be still, to any storms in my life. I deny them any power over me.
In the midst of a tumultuous situation, I turn within, close my eyes, and observe my emotions. I notice any restlessness in me and whisper to it: Peace, be still. I focus on my breathing and feel the storm dissipate. By tapping in to the peace at the core of my being, I find the calm strength necessary to meet challenges and overcome difficulties as Jesus did.
Right and perfect solutions come, and all things work together for good. Even in stormy times, I am at peace, and all is well.
He woke up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves; they ceased, and there was a calm.—Luke 8:24

Well, if Jesus didn't fret over the storms in his life... isn't that a good model for myself? Turning within, I can whisper to myself: Peace, be still. I can focus on my breathing, tapping into the peace that is truly at the core of my being, finding the calm I so deeply desire.

I am grateful for these powerful words of wisdom.
God Bless and Namaste...

A Labor of Love...

Today's DAILY WORD....My day is rich with opportunities for spiritual expansion and service.
Any type of work can be constructive and worthwhile. Any activity is satisfying when it is a labor of love. As I keep a spiritual perspective and mindful awareness in all that I do, my workday is rich with opportunities for personal connection and spiritual expansion.
Martin Luther King Jr. said, “All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance.” With spiritual awareness, any type of work can be done in a way that expands one’s consciousness and uplifts others.
At the beginning of the workday, I pray to express God in all I do and to exhibit qualities of clarity, love, appreciation, and excellence. I am grateful at the end of each day to have engaged in a labor of love.

Many years ago, I was a lay-minister, Outreach Program Director, with Unity Church in Lansing Michigan.  A parishioner came to me and said she wanted a job like mine... a 'holistic' job, a spiritual job. At that time she worked in an upscale clothing store. My counsel to her was much like today's inspiration. ANY job can be a spiritual job... it's all in the way we hold it, the way we frame our thoughts about our work.

So, here's my invite to you.... may you look upon your 'job' as a labor of love, a labor of expression of your Divine Nature. Every action, every interaction, provides you with the opportunity to do 'God's Work'.  Think about it.... remember, your thoughts are prayers.

A Prayer for travel...

Good morning friends... It's 4:45 am and I'm about to leave on a 1000 mile journey to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Before every trip, I always say a prayer to my angels. I set my intention for safe travel and that I may do God's work where ever I am. For inspiration this morning, I found this lovely little Catholic prayer....
God's Angels guard and keep you
All the way that you must travel
Till earth's days are past
When blossoms fade and
Time is fleeting fast
In times of purest joy
Or pain and fear
God's Angels guard
And keep you safe.
My own words of prayer...
Thank you God, Angels and Guides, for the joy and blessings of travel today. May my Angels precede me, creating safety. May my Guides instruct my decisions as I follow my GPS. May the day be filled with Your Wonder and Joy as I observe the millions of Miracles of this World.
Thank you, and So it is.
Sweet Blessings and Namaste

Inner stillness...

Drawing from the stillness within, I am at peace. It's important to remember to stop, and be still. Especially during times of upheaval. Even in the midst of chaos, I remain centered.

Remembering to focus on my breath. At the still point between thoughts or breaths, I discover an ocean of infinite peace within me. With intention, I draw peace from the stillness and express it to the world through my thoughts, words, and actions.

Peace comes forth from within like a rising tide, gently kissing the shores of my life. I feel a peaceful ease in the movement of my body and the cadence of my walk. As I interact with others, I listen closely and enjoy discussions with a satisfying, easy rhythm. The peace I find within, shapes my life experience. Drawn from inner stillness, divine peace blesses my life and the lives of those around me.

Prepping to travel...

My prayer this morning is for calm organization as I prepare for my trip to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. May I be open to Divine Guidance as I embrace a beginner's mind, allowing the wonders of Gaia's earth to speak to me her special language of abundance, love, compassion, caring, generosity, giving, and deep serenity. As I go about packing for this sojourn may the soul satisfying experiences I am about to receive begin to fill me with the quintessence and embodiment of the Contented Crone.
And so it is, this or something higher....

A groggy start...

I woke up feeling a bit groggy this morning. Got enough sleep, but have been running on high energy all week. Maybe it's time for a little self care... a perfect time to tune into my angels, guides, and God.
You too, are invited to turn within, to allow the Divine Intelligence of the Universe to direct your thinking and your actions. May we stretch out today's moments of rest and meditation, feeling fulfilled, rested, and restored. May we be mindful of the balance we seek, that we rest into the soft support of our Angels, as we open to the guidance of our Guides, make good choices of actions, thinking, emotions. Where ever we are today, may we remember God is also there, holding us and supporting us.
And so it is.
Namaste.

Personal Power = Personal Choices

We've often heard Viktor Frankl's quote:  "Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."   Or, also from Man's Search for Meaning: "When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."
Sometimes we can't control our circumstances, we have to accept what is. But, what we DO have control over, is how we chose to respond to our situation.
BUT! Do we remember that we have the choice? Do we remember to call on the Infinite Wisdom of God to help us make the highest choice. That's my prayer: Please God, help me see this differently. It doesn't always show up immediately... but when I claim my power to choose and celebrate the wisdom that guides me, I am truly 'Letting Go and Letting God be God in my life'.
Sweet Blessings on a beautiful rainy fall morning.

Self Care: Listening to Divine Guidance

I'm all about Self Care these days.... to care for one's self is to truly care for God. As we allow our Inner Light express the presence of God in our thoughts, words, and actions... we are truly an Expression of God. We are love, peace, power, and life! We are all of this and more.

Part of self care is listening to God's gentle guidance. It's being kind to ourselves. As we practice patience, kindness, and love for ourselves and others, we manifest the essence of God in the world.

Centered in the Infinite we behold the Divine in others, embrace a life of goodness, and are truly a conduit through which others experience the essence of God and come to know fullness.

Self Care: I let go of the past and open the way to greater good

Sometimes it seems easier to be kind to others, than to be kind to ourselves. We criticize ourselves more harshly, hold ourselves to impossibly high standards, then condemn ourselves for our perceived imperfections.

You are invited to let go of the past and to embrace the Luminous Light within your heart. Let go of the past, your self condemnation, forgive and let go, and let God be God in your life.

When we let go of the past and lay down our burdens and regrets, we open the way to greater good, which we are now ready to receive and to give.

Allow your light to shine. The world needs your Light. God wants to know what are you waiting for?

Sweet blessings,
Namaste

Divine flow.... from Unity's Daily Word

Prosperity
I give and receive with ease and grace.
When I am in the divine flow of prosperity, I give and receive with ease and grace. Nothing causes me to withhold my gifts, whether they be financial, emotional, or simply helpful. As I feel led to give, I do so freely. I experience the joy of serving others with generosity.
Equally important to the experience of prosperity is receiving graciously. When someone gives me a present, a smile, an offer for help, or a listening ear, I am fully present to receive the gift. I give the giver my full attention and express genuine gratitude for their thoughtfulness.
I practice the prosperity principle of circulation. As I give, I receive; and as I receive, I give. I am blessed.
